Defeating Perfectionism 🥊× The Consecrated Use Of Social Media
I should have sent a newsletter on Saturday...
Not only should a letter have gone out on Saturday, I'll probably still spend hours trying to figure out the perfect picture on Pinterest or with Chatgpt that will suit my Substack aesthetics.
Oh! Did I mention that I've always fallen short of recording a voice over to accompany every letter I send out despite the fact that I purposed it in my heart.
Then there's also the design template for my newsletter that I intend to have designed for social media, so that I'll post whenever I publish. It would consist of a cover design featuring the newsletter subject and the following designs will be of the quotes from the letters, but I don't have it yet
If you'd also like to defeat the idea of always being perfect, and continually OWN YOUR STORY, then I invite you to
If I waited for everything to be right, then I would have robbed you my Subscribers of something that God has for you today.
It reminds me of the scripture “He who observes the wind will not sow, And he who regards the clouds will not reap.” Ecclesiastes 11:4 NKJV
So, let's cut to the chase…
Could you do me a small favor? If you enjoy this newsletter, please tap the heart ❤️ at the bottom of your email and leave a comment. It only takes a minute, and your support means the world to me. Thanks so much for being here!
Why do I write to you today?
Instagram saw it first, but I thought 💭, what is the Gram where my Stack family is 😉?
Hey fam! Feel free to give me a follow, if you'll love to follow my consecrated use of social media.
Firstly, you might be wondering, why is Busayomi even on Instagram 🤔? That's right! That's what the post and this letter addresses.
Family, I have a very powerful message for you today, and I urge you to pay attention. I love to call myself a Daughter of Consecration and I'll love to extend this knowledge to my subscribers today.
There is a consecrated way to use social media with purpose, and that is why I write to you today. Social media will be more profitable to you, if you know why you are there and what your presence on the app is about. This is different from constantly following everybody's work and having an unhealthy screen time.
Here's a note I made on Substack which explains things;
More in these times, I think I'll become a voice of consecration with the use of social media.
Here's a few key things I shared in my Instagram post which I want you to know, and for the rest, you can click the post to see for yourself.
“…what I can say is that, my presence here this moment is marked by a deep internal work that has taken place and is still ongoing with the help of Holy Spirit, over the past one year of being away.
It's been a fulfilling year of learning to take my eyes actively off the lives of all the amazing creatives I follow, overcoming comparison, people pleasing and so many things I didn't know where taking roots in me from an unhealthy screen time on Instagram.
I'm here this moment and what's important is that I'm OWNING MY STORY, MY JOURNEY AND MY LIFE, and that I'm on the front cover of my life's magazine.”
I hope you were blessed by this letter today. The time is coming in the future where I'll have more followers, but I want to rightly steward this my growing community now and remember everyone I started with.
I never want to forget the making, the crickets after pouring my heart into a post and the calling to use social media purposefully.
If you feel called to a season of consecration, I want to invite you to this space where I share how to use social media from a purposeful place, because I strongly believe that that there's a higher mindset to operate the use of social media from. There's still so much to learn and I'm ready to unlearn default patterns.
Till I write to you again,
Stay Consecrated.
