Long time, no newsletter! How ya doing 😄?
I know! I know! It's been a while and I'm glad to be back.
Every week, Substack sends me a collation of letters from Substack writers, which reads something like “Welcome to this week's edition of Your Weekly Stack. Every week, we send you a digest of posts assembled just for you.” in a newsletter tagged “The Substack Post”.
They call it my weekly stack, which makes sense. It's like anticipating my preference and saving me the time I would have spent discovering those writers myself. It's also a way they bring me up to speed on things I might have missed.
Honestly, almost every suggested newsletter had subject lines and starting lines that prompted me to click on the stories more often than not.
Not sure if I’ve ever made it to someone's inbox as a suggested read. Maybe I have made it there, or maybe it takes consistency to get there - one thing I must admit I haven't really mastered.
Could you do me a small favor? If you enjoy this newsletter, please tap the heart ❤️ at the bottom of your email and leave a comment. It only takes a minute, and your support means the world to me. Thanks so much for being here!
However, I'm changing the narrative!
Guess who printed a CONTENT CALENDAR for a busy month ahead?
Your girl did 😁😄!
So, Maybe I have been featured on The Substack Post or maybe not, I guess we'll never really know 🤷.
Here's something we can know for sure!
Your girl is stepping out to be the main character in her own story, the front cover of her own magazine (if she finally figures out the design that works and how to implement it) and the manager of her own brand.
Introducing “The OWN YOUR STORY Post” 🥁🥁🥁🎉🎊🎉.
Now, we might not be sure of “The Substack Post”, but we are sure of weekly recaps of what you might have missed from my publication. Also because I'm big on amplifying the creativity of others and just anything I think people need to know about, you can expect a segment from other publications sometimes.
The OWN YOUR STORY Post is Your Weekly Stack of posts set to inspire you to Own Your Story. Every week, we send you a digest of posts assembled just for you. Expect to be blown away and to be equipped to live out your own life beautifully.
This year has been one of learning and building structures around so many things, and allocating the right time and day to the right activities. I've learnt previously that systems and structures are greater than just setting goals, because they give the roadmap to how these goals will be arrived at.
Even though I knew this principle, I didn't implement it, but handled my newsletters as spontaneous and Holy Ghost-led and only sent out newsletters when something happened that I considered remarkable and that I thought my readers had to know about.
Now, ain't nothing wrong with spontaneous and Holy Ghost-led, but I'm choosing structure and Holy Ghost-led.
I always knew I could do better, but one of my biggest fears was sending out newsletters that didn't slap, or not even having any inspiration of what to send out. A wake-up call for me was seeing friends
and who by the grace of God, I helped get onboarded on Substack build structure, define brand peculiarities, and build a home for subscribers around their publication.A big shout out to
🎉, for setting a precedent of consistency with how she stewards Authentic Leadership Institute. It is evident that such brand and career success is powered by consistency (Yes! A content calendar 🤫) and other powerful values. On a more personal level, my decision of consistency, backed by a challenge-driven mindset and followed by the action of building a content calendar was supported by the launch of the 100 day writing challenge (might fly, might flop) by Ifeoma Nwobu. Such a powerful sister-duo 👏.
It is true, the quote that says
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
- Marriane Williamson
This is to choosing structure (specific dates and times) over spontaneous and over the vague “once in a week” operating system.
One of the goals of this newsletter and this new direction from God is also to help you transfer this lesson to something implementable in your life.
What do you need to build systems and structures around in your life?
Till I write to you again,
Remember to keep living out your story,
I love you 💕.
Okay 👍
Glad to have you back 🥳
